Inventory Sync
Sync inventory quantities between Shopify and QuickBooks Online
Inventory Sync keeps your stock levels in sync between Shopify and QuickBooks Online. When products are synced, their inventory quantities are included in the sync data.
How It Works
When a product is synced to QuickBooks, the Quantity On Hand is set from the Shopify variant's inventory_quantity. This ensures your QuickBooks inventory records match your Shopify stock levels.
Inventory Data Synced
| Shopify Field | QuickBooks Field |
|---|---|
| Variant inventory quantity | Quantity On Hand |
| Variant created date | Inventory Start Date |
| Variant price | Unit Price |
Keeping Inventory Updated
Inventory stays up to date through:
Webhook-based Sync
When products are updated in Shopify (including inventory changes), the webhook triggers an automatic sync to QuickBooks with the latest inventory data.
Manual Resync
You can manually resync any product from the Products page to push the latest inventory quantities to QuickBooks.
Bulk Sync
Use the Sync All Products button to update all product data including inventory quantities.
Inventory sync is part of the product sync process. Whenever a product is synced or resynced, the latest inventory quantities are included automatically.
Best Practices
- Resync after stock changes — If you manually adjust inventory in Shopify, resync the product to update QuickBooks
- Use webhooks — Keep auto-sync enabled for real-time inventory updates
- Review regularly — Periodically check that inventory counts match between Shopify and QuickBooks
